MANAGEMENT TEAM

Boston Analytics’ management team draws upon a diversity of backgrounds in both business and academia. Boston Analytics’ executives and analysts bring decades of diverse industry experience from Global 1000 and emerging companies, from consulting firms such as McKinsey & Co. and CRA International, and from financial institutions such as Lexington Partners and Oppenheimer and Co. Our team includes graduates from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Indian Institutes of Management, the Indian Institutes of Technology, and other prestigious institutions.

Rashid Bilimoria
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Rashid Bilimoria has more than 14 years of global experience in business consulting and entrepreneurship. In his role as a strategy consultant, he has helped leading companies develop, define, and execute their business strategies. Prior to co-founding Boston Analytics, Rashid worked at Charles River Associates (CRA), where he managed projects for various Fortune 500 companies both in the United States and abroad. Previously, Rashid co-founded Mumbai-based Bilimoria Foods and Beverages, which spawned nationally recognized retail brands such as Smokin’ Joe’s. He has also worked in the financial sector for a top-tier chartered accounting firm in London. Rashid received his BA from Grinnell College and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Ted Thorbjornsen
Chief Analytical Officer and Co-Founder

Ted Thorbjornsen has spent more than 15 years as a business and technology executive. As a business manager at Keithley Instruments, Ted’s responsibilities included growth and profit for the company’s research markets and also various electronic manufacturing markets. In the face of an economic downturn, Ted grew his business unit by over 50 percent over three years. From 1990 to 1998, Ted worked for Norwegian telecom company Telenor in the fields of optoelectronics and semiconductors. Ted received his MS in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Max Senechal
Chief Operating Officer

Max Senechal oversees Boston Analytics’ operations with a focus on executing the firm's aggressive growth plan and long-term IPO strategy. His career as a business executive and management consultant spans more than 20 years in numerous domestic and international leadership roles. Most recently, Max served as a vice president for Boston-based CRA International, where he facilitated business strategy development, operation improvement projects, due diligence projects, and post-merger integration for multinational companies based in Europe, North America, and Asia. Prior to his tenure at CRA, he was with consultancy Arthur D. Little based in the U.S. and France. Max received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University in Canada and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts.

Urvil Modi
Head of India Operations

Urvil Modi oversees Boston Analytics’ Mumbai operations. With a background in finance and strategy, Urvil’s previous professional experience includes strategic planning roles with two of India’s leading companies: Sterlite Industries and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. At Boston Analytics, Urvil has overseen numerous engagements for investment banks as well as corporate and consulting clients. Urvil received his engineering degree from REC Durgapur and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).

Partha Ghosh
Chairman & Executive Director

For nearly 30 years, Partha S. Ghosh has advised businesses and governments worldwide. Formerly a senior partner at McKinsey & Company, Partha founded the strategy and policy advisory firm Partha S. Ghosh & Associates. Partha’s engagements have included strategic counsel in technology-based industries and service to heads of state in more than a half-dozen countries. Partha holds Master’s Degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Chemical Engineering and Business Administration. He was also a Rotary Foundation Fellow and graduated first in his undergraduate class at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

Rajesh Ahuja
Senior Vice President Human Resources

Rajesh brings a decade of experience to his role as head of human resources for Boston Analytics’ India operations. He began his career with Toyota as a management trainee and since then has worked for leading technology and financial services companies that include Infosys, JP Morgan, and Deutsche Bank Group. In his most recent assignment, he served as head of human resources for Deutsche Bank’s operations in Bangalore, India. Rajesh’s expertise lies in designing and executing integrated HR strategies that take a holistic approach to policies and processes, talent management and development, compensation and benefits, and continuous improvement of work-life quality.

Samir Bhatia
Chief Information Officer

Samir Bhatia brings more than 18 years of business and technology experience to his roles at Boston Analytics, where he leads technology initiatives, including product development, and oversees financial, corporate, sales, legal, and administrative activities. Previously, Samir founded Tribiosys, a Boston-based scientific consulting firm, and was founder and CTO of StructuredMarkets, an online equity marketplace. Other experience includes managing Internet/e-commerce marketing and sales at Systems Engineering Associates, a custom software developer, and leading the turnaround of Xscribe as its general manager. Samir holds MS degrees in Computer Science and Physics from Northeastern University.

Bhavana Bindra
Vice President, Business Research and Analytics

Bhavana Bindra heads Boston Analytics’ Business Research and Analytics practice in India. Bhavana began her career at Boston Consulting Group in India where she helped clients across the financial services and healthcare sectors in strategic decision making. The engagements she managed ranged from market strategy, product strategy, and portfolio design to change management. Most recently, as general manager at Cummins India, Bhavana was instrumental in setting up the automotive business unit. Bhavana started as head of corporate planning at Cummins and later led business development at the automotive unit. She received her MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and is an Economics Honors graduate from Sri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi.

Swati Chaturvedi
Vice President, Private Equity

Swati Chaturvedi leads Boston Analytics’ Private Equity practice. Swati has significant experience as a strategy and transformation consultant with Capgemini US. She has worked primarily in the financial services sector, with a special focus on private banking and wealth management. Her consulting engagements ranged from market sizing and new market entry strategy to industry trends analysis and M&A. Swati holds Masters degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California, Berkeley. Her undergraduate degree is from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Oren Grad, PhD, MD
Senior Consultant

Dr. Oren Grad has been active in the fields of medical technology assessment and health policy analysis for more than 20 years. Oren’s work reflects his broad interdisciplinary background in natural science, clinical medicine, technology assessment, applied social science, and public policy analysis. Previously executive director of technology assessment and clinical affairs at Abt Associates Clinical Trials (AACT), Oren led AACT’s work on pharmacoeconomic registries – studying impacts of pharmaceuticals and medical devices through integrated collection of data on clinical, economic, and patient-reported outcomes. He also led or advised other pharmacoeconomic, health services, and medical technology assessments, and was a senior member of Abt’s health services research and technology analytics practices. Oren earned his MD from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and his PhD in health policy and management from MIT.

Helena Long
Vice President, Business Research and Analytics

Helena Long co-leads the Healthcare Practice at Boston Analytics. Helena has devoted the last twenty years helping her clients transform market data to market intelligence in order to identify and penetrate new markets, launch new products and create competitive advantage. As a former Director of Marketing at a Fortune 100 firm, Ms. Long brings extensive marketing experience to her consulting practice. Prior to joining Boston Analytics, Helena was a Principal at Abt Associates. She serves clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and healthcare information technology sectors. Helena also has extensive therapeutic experience in oncology, cardiology and nuclear medicine. Helena leverages her marketing, consulting, research and context expertise to enable her clients to solve complex business problems to drive both top and bottom line growth. She earned her MBA from Boston University.

Kimberlee Luce
Vice President, Business Research and Analytics

Kimberlee Luce has led research and consulting engagements for more than 15 years. At Boston Analytics, she oversees research for corporate and professional services clients and co-heads the healthcare practice. Previously, Kimberlee was a principal consultant with Abt Associates, focusing on healthcare market sizing and segmentation, new market entry, new product design and launches, and database development. Earlier, she was a partner at Saltworks, a marketing strategy and design firm, and a management consultant with the Mitchell Madison Group. Kimberlee received her MBA from Case Western Reserve University and was a Weatherhead Merit Scholar, John Corrigan Fellow, and 1993–94 Fulbright Scholar in South Asia.

Soli F. Mehta
Director, Business Development

Soli Mehta has spent more than 15 years in business, primarily in the financial sector. His career includes a decade at Lexington Partners, a global private equity firm and one of the largest independent managers of secondary private equity capital. Previously, he worked at Oppenheimer and Co. in the international institutional equity sales department. Soli received his BA from the University of Massachusetts and his MBA from Pace University in New York.

Dr. Satasurya Sharma
Vice President, Information Technology

Dr. Satasurya Sharma oversees information technology at Boston Analytics. Previously country head for global systems and security at Capgemini India, he served internal and external global clients and helped the firm attain and maintain industry certifications and standards ranging from ISO9001, ISO27001, and Sarbanes-Oxley, to ITIL and HIPPA. Satasurya began his career with SMS, Delhi, and also served in leading roles for Patni and SiegeWorks LLC. Satasurya holds MA and PhD degrees in Management Studies from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and an MS in Computer Science from MD University.

Sam Thomas
Director, Financial Services

Dr. Sam Thomas leads Boston Analytics’ financial product development team and provides senior leadership to Boston Analytics’ financial services and corporate finance advisory practices. An expert on how the global macro business cycle impacts corporate finance and investment, Sam integrates academic research with product development for financial advisors and money managers. He frequently contributes to institutional investor conferences around the world and has served as a senior research fellow at the Advest Institute, the MONY-Securities Institute, and the AXA Institute. Sam received his MS and PhD in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, his MBA from the College of William and Mary, and his MA (Honors) in Economics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Sam has won six single-winner teaching excellence awards as a member of the banking and finance faculty at Case Western Reserve’s Weatherhead School of Management.

Anthony Willis
Director, Business Development

Anthony Willis has spent the past thirty years in investment banking, public finance, and mergers and acquisitions. He has worked for firms such as A.G. Edwards, SBK Brooks, and Anthony Willis and Associates, and has provided consulting services to healthcare, technology and service, and manufacturing companies. Anthony’s experience encompasses private placements, capital markets, advance refunding techniques, and more than 25 years in housing and commercial real estate financing, including serving as the investment banker for some of the largest public housing financing agencies in the U.S. Anthony received a BA in Finance at Boston University and has completed advanced programs in restructuring distressed companies, tax credit, and housing bond finance programs.
